  • Issue with VrayALSurface SSS not reading bumpmap

    Using the VrayALSurface Material with SSS at 100% shows no effect from bumpmaping/normalmaps when using CPU rendering, but renders fine when using GPU. Only the reflections and diffuse show bump/normals
    Using Vray Displacement does however render the normalmap effect on SSS, just not when plugging a map directly into the materials bumpmap slot.
    This issue seems to persist on both Vray 3.x and Vray Next Update 3.

    Thanks in advance for any help solving this issue.

      I tried it, but this doesn't seem to work. Here are some images to show the differences.
      First Image: Default ALSurfaceMtl with bumpmap/normalmap ( no effect )
      Second Image: ALSurfaceMtl + BumpMtl (some effect, but not right)
      Third Image: Default ALSurfaceMtl +VrayDisplacement (No Tessellation, only the normalmap produced by it)

      I'm not at home atm so i can't render a VrayNext GPU version, but the results are consistent with the displacement version, just, without the displacement.

        Any word from a dev on this? Perhaps any other workarounds? Or confirmation that it's a bug that is being looked into?
