  • Fume FX Render Elements

    Hi,

I use Fume FX and render the fire/smoke out as render elements for comping.

It turns out the the most recent version of VRay has stopped the FumeFX render elements from working.

Afterworks says that the problem is Vray's and they need some code from Chaos to fix it.

I found out that it's not working at 4am in the middle of a tight deadline, I'd simmed to the default FFX format so couldn't use the VRay Volume Grid. I wasn't happy

Any chance we can get this working?

      Hello!

I'm sorry for the late reply.
Unfortunately I was able to reproduce the issue and I just forwarded it to our developers.
If you need an update on this matter you can ask my colleagues about the status of issue VMAX-9492 - it's a reference to our internal bug tracking system.
      Thank you for reporting this!

      Best regards,
      Margarita

          Hello!

I'm happy to inform you that there is a fix available starting with today's stable builds of V-Ray Next (https://nightlies.chaosgroup.com/mai...le/stable_4.3/).
FumeFX render elements are now correctly rendered in my tests. If there is still something wrong, please write back and we'll look into it.

          Best regards,
          Margarita

              Hello!

Unfortunately I can confirm that deep output with Fume FX is still not saved properly. There is a separate issue regarding it and I'll ping the developers here to revisit it.
Next time, you can ask for the progress of VMAX-9097 - this is the number of the respective issue in our internal bug tracking system.

              Best regards,
              Margarita
