Vray Auto Region Exr data

Hey guys we are currently using vray 3.6. we are trying to figure out the auto crop data for nuke. I tried the optionRE and checked the "exr auto data window" but cant seem to get the cropping reading correctly in nuke. Am i missing something??

what is it looking like in Nuke? The autocrop looks at the alpha channel to determine the cropping, I believe.

looks like this, not seeing the region, just did a simple sphere

huh, I've never seen that. Dumb question, but what does the alpha look like? just the sphere?

yup, just a sphere, not sure whats going on here, we are running version 3.6 not sure if that's an issue. On a side note, not sure if you remember me but we crossed paths briefly over at DD when working on Laura croft cinematic. I was a lighter there for about 4 months. =)

It seems to be working as expected from what I tested on a simple scene. Could you attach the scene from the screenshot so we can take a look?

Thanks for the provided scene. It seems to be working fine. Note, however, that you need to save the image through the 'V-Ray raw image file' output for the auto data window to work.

well... that explains it! thanks for this! we are currently saving through max output. that's why we don't see it
