  • VRSCENE export problem (Max > Maya import) - invisible in viewport

    Hi,
I have tried to export a big interior scene from Max to Maya.
The scene runs fine in 3dsMax and I can export a Vrscene.
    There are several issues:

    1.)
At import in Maya I get the message
// Error: V-Ray : VRayScene: Preview for Node "HairVrObject001@node_105801" is not supported [UNKNOWN]. //
// Error: V-Ray : VRayScene: Preview for Node "Hair_MR_Object001@node_105802" is not supported [UNKNOWN]. //

I already deleted that object, but I guess there are still some nodes in the file remaining.
Is there a way to find these nodes and to delete?
Actually Vray should ignore them instead making the complete scene invisible/unusable at import.

    2.)
The scene renders in viewport with VrayIPR, but I can nearly not navigate with the camera.
All viewports (alos orthographic) behave strange.
I can not move the IPRcamera in another ciewport, I only can rotate.
So in a nutshell, it is rendering but not really working.

    3.)
    In General about Maya-Import:
At import I always need to rotate the scene by X -90° in order to switch from Z-axis to Y-axis up.
In the documentation is written, that you could choose at import which axis should be up... so it's not working in Maya

    Thanks...

    1. This concerns the viewport preview display of VRayFur, it should render out fine. Did you re-export after deletion? Maybe you can try opening the .vrscene in notepad and search if the said nodes are still there.
    2. Not sure about this. Maybe you can send us the scene at support@chaosgroup.com so we can take look?
    3. You can choose the orientation from the 'VRayScene' node, specifically with the 'Flip Axis' option.
