    Thanks in advance for clarifying.

Well initially this fix was for 2020, so put the folder into the plugins folder so the path would read C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2020\PlugIns\NVIDIA\Plugins\

I am now on 2021 and the problem does not exist for me any more, so that folder is not present. If you're on 21 and it does exist then maybe it will help, so match that path for 21 I guess....can't harm

I agree, there should be a global ignore for these specific mr warnings. Or a solution where max goes into all the xref files to remove this automatically on scene load. Xref locations can be 10-20 different places for us, and batching one file in each of those locations does not cut it. Any new workarounds here? I just installed the SILENTIUM! script. However, it's never a good idea to supress all warnings to get rid of just one specific issue, especially when this workaround has to be rolled out to everybody in our studio.

I wrote a tiny tool to process max files.
The UI ought to be self-descriptive.

A few things to keep in mind.

*) It will *overwrite* the incoming files. Ensure you do all the due diligence *before* running the script.
For example, make a copy of the folder tree you want to process, and act on that, rather than directly on your production files.
Alternatively, enable file backup on save inside Max.

*) It will save the files with the same version as the max you're using to process them. Feel free to edit the script in the file saving part to choose which version to save it as.
For example, if you use max 2022 to run the script, it will save all the cleaned files as version 2022, making them impossible to open in earlier versions.

*) The script has no way other than opening the file to see if there are Legacy entries.
On the positive side, i minimise Max, and the process can be halted holding down the ESC key (it will be detected only while Max isn't loading or saving the file.) after having clicked the minimised Max Taskbar icon (so it gets focus).
Minimising max is the only way i know of to ensure it won't steal focus from the user at each file load.
Feel free to remove the pertinent line(s) as you please.

*) This is given without warranty, implied or else, no liability nor support from me or Chaos.
In other words, you're on your own if you want to download and use it, or refine it with more features and logic.

Yes, I got no more MR messages. The only thing what doesnt make the process running in the background are the messages from the newer version: "This version of VRay includes automatic subdiv calculatos, updated internal spectral RGB color...." If you could answer this question always with yes by default in the scrpt it would be great. All the older HQPlant models for example have the MR problem and to sit there and click on "Yes" for hundreds of files iwould be very timconsuming. Thank you very much again.

Ha, silly enough, made another test, and put only one file in the folder to have a quick process. But there were 70 files in a subfolder. Nothing happend at first, but when I clicked on the task bar to enlarge MAX all of these files were loaded, one after another, but no one was processed. In the end MAX crashes. The files were unchanged. That means for me, that I will only choose the last folder without subfolders.

Ah, very good feedback, i was hoping the max "quiet" loading mode would take care of that, but it turns out there is a specific way to go about it.
The script is attached, it ought to also fix the max crashing and many-file loading, i think.
                    If not, report it, please.
