  • Animated Vray Lights Don't preview in 3dsmax 2020 Viewport Help Please

I have to key a ton of lights per a script about 100. Anyway. I have no way of telling what is on and off without checking the timeline, would be nice to put the view port to High Quality and at least see some shadows and illumination. This works fine for standard max lights but when i scrub the timeline for vray lights they go on and off randomly not at all how I have them animated the multipliers to go up and down.

how to fix this? thanks !

yea it looks like a bug, I wired a slider to each light so when the timeline is scrubbed can see what the light is doing. same thing goes for creating preview animation.

I can confirm that also in 3dsmax 2021 if you key a Vray light, move the time line, and remove the keys, the light will still be animated even with the keys gone in the view port. permanently bugged in the viewport from then on.

Thanks for the report. We have the issue already logged (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-1594). You may use IPR or viewport IPR for previewing purposes.
