Rendernode crashing / rebooting during rendering of animation

Hey all,

I have an odd case.

1 node is playing up, and I can't figure out why. It will render a few frames, anywhere from 5 to 20, then reboot back to the login screen.

I have reinstalled windows 10 pro, along with the usual software (max 2021, vray next).

But I still have this strange issue. The other nodes and workstations are fine.

Also, the machine performs normally in other circumstances, ie you can use it as workstation without any issue.

Everything is up to date.

Any ideas on what to check? I've been through all the sleep setting, updates, etc, but can't see anything unusual.

Maybe it overheats? You can try monitoring the CPU temperature. You can also try excluding a couple of CPU cores, or even half of them for the purpose of the test and render again to see if the same problem will happen. See https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...endering/page2
Also check Event Viewer for related system messages.

It's getting up to 93 / 94 whilst rendering a frame, then quickly drops to 80 ish very quickly between frames.

Is that too hot?
