  • VRay 5 GPU - No Lighting Analysis

This is kind of a bummer... I just purchase the NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2070 Super so that i can really utilize the CPU/GPU hybrid rendering. So why does V-Ray 5 renderer support the VRayLightingAnalysis Render Elements but is not supported for V-Ray GPU 5? This puts a damper in my workflow when I am asked to render my interior scenes along with the Lighting Analysis (since I am in the lighting business). In order to not have to render twice, I have to change the Renderer to V-Ray 5 which negates the reason for the new video card I purchased.

I forgot to add that the VRay Light Meter will also not work when Renderer is set to V-Ray GPU 5

There is a page for supported features by V-Ray GPU - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...orted+Features
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Thank you for the list. I am a man that likes to learn so forgive me for asking "Why" is it not supported? Will it ever? Since the majority of my work is focused on light analysis I do not get any of the benefits of rendering with GPUs or the Hybrid. So when I am asked to render a final scene with a Light Analysis Element I can only do one of the two options; Either switch to only CPU renderer (which will take longer) or render twice (one with the GPU/CPU Hybrid then switch to CPU renderer for the Light Analysis).

I don't mean to divert this thread; it's just that the recommended driver is no longer available. In another post last month it was mentioned but your page has not been updated.
The latest driver is now 442.92. Hopefully that one is fine, as I am installing it.I'll report if it doesn't work

Yes it will. It's planned for H2, but I can't guarantee it will make it for the first update of V-Ray 5.

442.92 should be ok. Will usually wait a little to gather more feedback on stability before changing the recommended version.

Is the 442.92 Driver for only Laptops or can I download it for my PC as well?

To update, 442.92 is not fine. It is ok with CUDA but RTX is not working at all with it.
