  • Why is matte this different between CPU/GPU?

Why does this work correctly by GPU but not CPU? That is, I expect it be comped in the viewport and it is not in CPU.
Sorry if it's already in some post already.

EDIT: Really, this is giving me a headache. The (mostly) correct version is broken in Vray 5. Images show the differences. Why is there no reflection in the GPU version (even though it comps the render properly) ?
If it's unsupported then basically it's a mess, as no version works entirely as it should
Either I am stupid and I have missed something really obvious, or everyone is having the exact same issues and just putting up with them

I was asked to post the scene, so here it is https://www.dropbox.com/s/9m8rtg98mf...02020.max?dl=0

In V-Ray NEXT GPU matte worked with texture inside the dome light. However in V-Ray 5 GPU is more close to how V-Ray CPU is working. In order to get the proper behavior you need environment map for the matte object to sample and not the dome texture. If you set your texture to environment map slot it will work properly. As for the reflection in the GPU there are working as in CPU in V-Ray 5.

Well, it was option A then...I am stupid and missed something obvious
Thanks. I must have missed this in the docs somewhere.
I'll go back and read the changelogs etc., to satisfy my curiosity.
