  • Vray 5 - Previous Render Settings Not Working

I have a small yet huge issue occurring with Vray5. I am rendering an animation and breaking up my subject from the background. I just did another animation exactly the same in the previous Vray without any flaws, but now with this new official release of Vray I am having a major problem. Unless I am messing something up with their new vfb (which I am not changing anything in) then the settings for what happens to previous renders dont seem to work. I chose the "Clear" option since I am doing include/exclude and its literally just ignoring it and rendering on top of previous frame which as you can imagine making my whole animation useless and wasting my time.

Anybody encounter this issue? Right now due to deadlines I am manually overriding objects visibility but its quite sad an official release would take something that worked great and make it trash.

    Hello,

Sorry for the inconvenience - indeed the Clear previous render option is still not implemented in VFB2. We hope to get it ready very soon.
Just out of curiosity - do you ever use the other options such as Cross, Fields, Darken.. ?

    Best regards,

I need this to work as well as I use the clear function a lot for rendering various material finishes on a layer within the same render view. It saves so much time, please implement this asap . At the moment, I have to close and re-open the file to clear the VFB which is a real pain.

It is done in the internal builds and should get to public builds soon.

Actually I didn't check - the fix is already in the stable nightly builds - builds with build number 30200 and newer should work.
