  • VRAY 5 - VFB - How can I get Global Color Control settings from a .vccglb file created in V-RAY 4 or ealier?

The new frame buffer is fantastic, but Global Color Control settings saved from the frame buffer for V-Ray 4 or older are gone upon opening a scene. I have a vccglb file saved for the specific scene I'm working on, but I don't see a way to load/call those settings back into layers for the V-RAY 5 Frame Buffer.

This might be an issue for projects that reference a vccglb file for the Color Control settings.

Is there a way to load settings from an old vccglb file into the new frame buffer?

Currently, no. You would need to manually replicate your preset's adjustments in VFB2. I'll address this issue to our developers to see if we could come up with a more elegant solution.

Hello, any update on this feature, its very annoying since i have to revert back vray 4 take the screenshots i need then install again vray 5 , aren't the variables the same? (the only elegant solution would be two 3dsmax versions installed each with a different vray version on it ). I mean you're pushing so hard for people to use the VFB and yet no one thought about transferring the settings safely from one version to the other, What happens if you make another update to VFB on vray 6 and this happens again. Who do you think is going to update or use the VFB when a client comes back with an old project request and you need to get an exact match to the same image? I have dozens of old project where i use some features from VFB, i have to buy 2 interfaces for vray in order to have 2 max versions sessions opened side by side so i can manualy transfer the settings, this leads to people not using the VFB anymore. And this is not the first time it happend some time ago, from vray 2 to vray 3 same thing happend, not settings wore kept. Please think about this for a second and try and make it in the next update you are planning.

Is there any news on that issue? We have finally upgraded to Vray 5 and of course we will have to get the same render output as in Vray Next. It woukd be extremely annoying to have to open all the dozens of current projects in Vray Next, make screenshots of the VFB settings and rebuild them manually in Vray 5.
Not to speak of the many old projects which have to be updated and re-rendered.
Vray 5 shoukd import the VFB settings automatically.

              Hello,

This is already available in the later updates. It would be best to use Update 2 - it should load old settings automatically and it also supports loading vccglb files.

              Best regards,
