  • Vray5 scene suddenly repeats LC calc infinitelly

    Hi guys,
i have this wip scene where out of the blue the LC calc in IPR woudl do just few subdivs and then repeat infinitelly. When i stip the render, either it would not do a thing or crash to desktop. My last test will be merging it to fresh scene. Weird thing is that nothing was changed it the scene between working state and bugged state.
any clues before i provide the scene please?
    thanks

Annoyingly it sounds like one of those times when you have to merge in objects in chunks to isolate the culprit. I'm sure it's there somewhere.
I've had this from time to time and even looking at the offending object it's impossible to tell why it causes the crash lol.

ok so i came back to office today, started the file where half of the stuff was hidden, started IPR and added objects in one by one while IPR was on.
      No issues whatsoever.
No idea what that was but miracles happen every day

If you still keep any of the crash dumps (the file 3dsmax_minidump.dmp in the %temp% folder), it could be useful to send them to me to vlado@chaosgroup.com

            Best regards,

It wasnt reboot that fixed it actually. All i did was that i came back to work the other day, started ipr with most layers off and slowly started turning them on one by one..which worked

When you feel it's misbehaving, but without a crash, you can likely use process explorer to get a quick minidump.
