Slate Material Editor closes and opens back again by itself when I start or stop IPR

Something strange is going on with Max 2021.1 and Vray 5 hotfix 1. Every time I start IPR with Slate Material Editor open, the material editor closes down by itself and I have to open it back up again manually. This happens every time and it gets really irritating. Also, when I stop IPR, the material editor opens up by itself. Anybody else experiencing this? It's the 1st time I'm seeing this behavior.

This is related to the Substance plugins - other users reported that installing Substance 2.3.2 (or later) fixes it for them.

The same problem happened to me with Vray 5 update 2. Updating substance fixed the issue.
