  • Warning About Frame Buffer Settings Overwriting Existing Files Does Not Work w/ GPU

Title says it all, but that nice new warning about Settings under the Frame Buffer rollout overwriting existing files doesn't seem to be working with VRay GPU (hotfix1).

Just wanted to make sure Chaos saw this and logged this bug (assuming they can reproduce it).

    Anyone?

You mean Max's "File Exists" message? It's been like that for a while. I'll notify our developers to see if we can implement it in V-Ray GPU as well.

In VRay3 you got no warning about the separate render elements overwriting existing files. In 5 CPU you now get a warning, which is nice. In GPU you still get no warning.

I am not sure if that warning is from Max or VRay. I assumed it was from VRay because Max doesn’t know about the settings in the Frame Buffer rollout of VRay, does it?

I am talking about saving render elements like multi matte to their own files during render.

        thanks.

It's from 3ds max. We have the warning request logged (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-6960). I'll add your request as well.

Cool. I just thought it was nice when it started appearing with CPU. I have overwritten those separate channel files so many times...

            thanks.
