  • Sparkles through Glass

    I keep noticing sparkles around harder to calculate corners near glass in images. This is build 4.30.00 max 2016
    I've turned off adaptive lights and even cranked up local subdivisions on both the glass material and lights with no avail.
    Affect shadows appears to be the only way to get rid of them

      Thank you for the provided scene. It seems the issue has been fixed in the latest V-Ray NEXT version (update 3.2, 4.30.02). Simply update to resolve it.

        Thanks Aleksandar. If it's worth anything it appears to be from nesting a vray dielectric material within a standard max shell material.

        I commonly setup refractive materials this way in order to see them in shaded viewport.

        Shell material with nested dielectric material applied to glass vs dielectric material applied directly to glass:
