  • Vray 5 / 3ds Max 2021 Opacity / Cutout issue

    Hello all
'm having an issue in Max 2021 with VRay 5. The "Cutout Map" channel in the "Physical Material" and also the "Opacity"channel in the new "PBR Material" are nor working with Vray.
The map is being ignored in the render and it also does not matter if i am using a texture or a procedural map.
I'm not sure if the standard Physical Material is no longer fully supported in Vray 5 but was working in Max 2019 with Vray 3, so I'm wondering if this is a known bug or if I'm the only one having this problem.

Anyone has any knowledge regarding this issue or am I maybe missing some compatibility setting?

ps. I've installed Hot fix 1 and 2 today but id didn't fix the issue.

Thank in advance for your support...

These materials are not fully supported. You can use the V-Ray scene converter (right-click on the viewport and tick Physical Material to VRayMtl) to make it V-Ray friendly.

Yes, thank you. I expected something like this. I was just confused that it worked in VRay 3.x. I'll use VrayMtl with the Metalness/Roughness workflow now
