  • Lightmix keeps constantly reseting during IPR session + Lightmix preset broken upon load

    Hello,

whenever i change lightmix settings and the do any change on material, camera or whatever that makes IPR refresh, the lightmix gets instantly reset.
Hope this is a bug because if this is by design, its pretty useless for our workflow..

Also the saved lightmix preset doesnt get loaded...its broken accross all our workstations.
When this will be fixed please?

    Using 5.00.06 build 30273

    Thanks for your input guys

Apparently this is what is supposed to happen. A few people asked in another post and the idea is we are intended to play with the lights and then send all the tweaks to the scene and render it again.
It does feel a bit unintuitive to be like that but that was the reasoning given.
The fact that it resets on resizing the window is very annoying though - hopefully a fix for that will come.
I didn't find any problem with the saving as a preset though - I actually used that as a workaround to it constantly resetting, as that was driving me nuts

Yeah but imagine youre tweaking lights and you need to jump to a material and change it slightly. And it gets reset. For what reason exactly??? I dont mind restarting ipr in that case But how foes that affext light intensities and colors so that it needs to be reset??? ...failing to load a saved preset is another story although also interesting.

This is the post I mentioned. Hopefully, as it's so useful, the mixer will get some tweaks to it to allow more user control

            Hello,

            Sorry for the delayed reply.

As mentioned in the linked topic - our goal is to avoid the LightMix resetting whenever possible. Most cases are already fixed in the internal builds.

Also the saved lightmix preset doesnt get loaded...its broken accross all our workstations.
Can you get me some of those broken presets ?

            Best regards,
            Yavor

To the specific issue, as presented, it's rather logical (and in line with any other light mixer implementation on the planet under the same conditions.).
That issue, however, is not the same as the one here.

The stable nightly build from today (build 30332) - contains the fix about the LightMix reset in IPR sessions (https://nightlies.chaosgroup.com/mai...e_5.0/20200917)
