refraction and alpha?

I'm not quite sure if this is a bug, or just me with incorrect settings.

I have a vehicle and I want the windows to not show up 255 white in the alpha. I have tried setting them to -1 alpha in the VRay properties, and a few other things suggested that I found while searching these forums.

Is there a way to do this? I'd like the windows to provide transparency when I bring the shot into AfterEffects or Photoshop so I can manipulate the background and the background will show through the windows.
