I took a look in the scene and the map distortion of the ground is well visible with such a high value for rotation of the Dome light.
It is in our dev's list, logged in our internal system as VMAX-11747 for developer investigation. We’ll keep you posted for any updates.

Bump on this topic. Any chance Vray can get a proper user friendly dome projection setup like Corona? I thought after the enigne was purchase by Vray they can just steal the code and make it proper? (I am by no means a programmer so I am just talking about of my butt here, but this woudl be an amazing feature to steal)
