Skylight portal and Simple boxes both grayed out?

Coming over to Max from Maya so this is likely a newbie question, but I'm unable to find a solution to this and I've also seen others ask the same question. So, when I create a rect/plane light in Max, why are the Skylight portal and Simple options grayed out and unavailable? I've even found tutorials online that seem to indicate this is not default or normal behavior.

Never mind, I now see these options are deprecated with GPU rendering in favor of dome lights.

That's exactly right - Skylight portals are not supported with V-Ray GPU as it's not needed anymore with the Adaptive Dome lights, as described here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...tedFeatures-24
