  • Dim distance fall off doesn't work anymore?

    Hi,

I am having the problem that the Dim fall off has no effect no matter if it is set to 0 or 1.
Before it would fade over to where the reflections would be cut off but now it is cutting it off always harshly.

    It works here.
It'd be best if you shared a scene with support.

Hi thx for the reply. I found my original post was missleading, as I only looked at the reflection pass.
In the RGB color seems the falloff works but it doesn't work for the passes.
This problem only happens when Consistent Lighting Elements is ON (so the default setting).

Reflection pass seems fine. Consistent lighting elements OFF. Reflection on the floor doesn't look the same way as RGBColor in terms of brightness but that probably because the RGBColor has some tonemapping that is not applied to the reflection pass in the VFB (?)

Only change here is to switch on Consistent Lighting Elements. Reflections are not fading out.

If you can't reproduce this I can send you a scene

I see, it does indeed look like a bug: it's impossible to obtain the original RGB through comping (the BackToBeauty RE setup also fails.).

        Thanks for the report!

It seems that it has not been fixed even in V-Ray 6.
