  • Visibility tracks

    Hello;

    I'm working on an animation describing the mounting of a machine. I use visibility tracks to manage objects to appear and dissapear. I just fund that apperently V Ray doesn't manage correctly the visibilty tracks, my objects appears suddenly instead of slowly fading in or out.
    Is it me make a mistake in the use of V Ray ?

    Thanks for advices
    Daniel

    Depending on what exactly you need to happen, then this post should help, I hope https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...illity-channel.

      fixeighted Thanks. Usually when i have to do this on 2 or 3 object i find it faster to do it in Premeiere, an image without the object an image with and let's fade. But the thing is that on the scene i work i have about 200 object to mamange appering and dissapearing. I made a maxscript to help me, it works fine in sankie but with V Ray hummm hummm.

        Many ways to do this depending on needs of course. It's a shame your script can't help, though maybe someone else here has an idea to tweak it.
        I don't know what 'sankie' is so can't comment.
        Are you animating the camera around the scene whilst fading things?
        If not then you can create the base image, then output a cryptomatte for everything on another pass and mask them out that way I guess. Would also work with animation but double the frames of course.

          My script creates the visibility key cause in Max you have to do it manually in the dope sheet which is quite long. I have to learn the V Ray modifier, may be one makes the job.
