  • Lens effects for Animations?

I just recently started using Lens effects more on my renders. I've been wanting to do a animation with one of the stills. I have looked all over and can't find if it's possible to apply lens effects to animations? How is this possible? Can someone point me to the info or video?

    Hi DB3D,

If you click on Enable bloom/glare effects in the VFB prior rendering and adjust the desired settings - they will be applied for each frame automatically when you start rendering your sequence.

Alternatively, if you wish to add Lens effects after the sequence is rendered, you can do so with our standalone Denoiser tool. A detailed guide on how to achieve that can be found here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...hedenoisertool

nikoleta.garkova Thank you for the reply. I like having the glare as a separate pass I can composite afterwards. I use the save all channels to get the pass. Is there a way to turn on lens effects, press render sequence but also still get a pass without the glare effect on?
I looked at the Denoiser tool option. That all seems extremely complicated but I might be able to figure it out and use it.

Are you not getting the Glare pass? If that's the case, would it be possible to forward the scene in question to us so we can investigate further? You can use our Support Contact Form over here - https://www.chaosgroup.com/help/contact

Yes. In the lens effects settings in the frame buffer, set mode to "image and render element". Upon saving you will get the RGB with applied Glare, the original RGB without Glare, and the Glare alone. Original_RGB + Glare = RGB_Beauty. We do it all the time.

Am I just missing a trick here or has this option been removed completely?
I need to be able to save the glare in my previews, rather than having to constantly compose it.

Just to preempt the question, this is to make preview jpeg sequences.
Ah ok, it does save it it seems...though not as pngs, which I had it set to.
