VrayDirt work with transparency freezes 3dsmax

For some reason when I click this checkbox it completely freezes max 2021. If I merge the geometry (using this material) with a few other parts it doesn't freeze max. Any ideas?

Well, merging the entire scene into a new scene worked.

It works ok here. Must be something else glitching it.
If you post an example scene of yours then I can see if it happens here with it and maybe find something.
Will have to be quick though...before the vino overtakes my abilities tonight

What version of vray was this in?

We've just switched to vray 5 (update 1) and the option seems to be removed altogether....
