This thread examines the issue closely but I'm starting a new one, because this seems to have just got lost, and it really needs looking at.

So here's the thing: I want to do some product renders on a pure white background for a website. That means I want to be able to have some kind of alpha that controls my objects, their shadows, and their reflections.
However, render elements (or channels) still aren't picking up the reflection from the matte/shadow (material or using the Vray geometry options)
Unless there is a much better way of doing it, I don't know why this isn't working.
I just want to select my reflections and play around with them, is that too much to ask?
