  • Why are my backgrounds now appearing dark ? (coming from V-Ray Next to 5.0)

I'm using the same processes as I've always used before, no new special new behaviour from me on my part, yet now, when I render, my environment backgrounds are appearing dark ?

This seems a new phenomenon - I never had this issue before in NEXT, only now in 5.0.

    Any ideas please ?

I'm using V-Ray sun and VRayDome with a HDRI in the texture slot - the same HDRI is instanced in the Environment Map slot as well.

And that sky in the background is a bright, sunny, sky.....

Check your exposure control settings. Otherwise, attach the simplified scene so we can take a look.

Thank you for the provided scene. There doesn't seem to be any issues from what I tested, the exposure control simply affects the environment as well. I also tried creating a similar setup in V-Ray NEXT to be rendered in V-Ray 5 and the results are identical. To boost the environment's brightness, increase either the "Render multiplier" or the "Overall multiplier" in the VRayBitmap.
