  • 3DS Max, Vray 5 Hotfix 2 , FumeFx

I have simulated Fire/Smoke in FumeFx 5.0 in 3ds Max and trying to render in Vray 5.0 (hotfix 2) with Standard TargetSpot light. The scene also has a 3d object with Vray material and I have setup correctly in FumeFx render options including adding Targetspot light to it.

When I try to render in Vray there is no effect of TargetSpot light on either 3d object with vray material or Fire/Smoke. The Fire/Smoke of shows up in render as FumeFx rendered only.

Is this a known issue or if not can some one guide me how to render above scene.

I checked by creating another test 3ds Max scene with a box , Standard Targetspot light and Vray 5 and box does not render as targetspot light has no impact.

Switch the Target Spotlight's shadows to VRayShadow and it should work.
