      Hi jackieteh

Can you check the exact Chaos Cosmos Browser version? It can be found in menu ...>About
Would it be possible to uninstall the Cosmos Browser manually as described in this forum post. Then, reinstall V-Ray for 3ds max and let us know if the issue is fixed. Thanks!

      newzboy

Can you also follow the steps described above?

Regarding your other issue, resetting the 3ds max settings to their defaults might do the trick. Try renaming the ENU folder to ENU_old (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\version - 64bit). Upon starting 3ds max, a new ENU folder will be created with the default preferences. Keep in mind that this would remove any customizations you might have set.

              Hi jackieteh, apologies

Here's how to remove Cosmos browser and content:
              1) Uninstall the existing Chaos Cosmos Browser program. On Windows, go to Add or Remove Programs, find Chaos Content Browser and click on Uninstall.
              2) Remove any files from previous installations by deleting these directories (if they exist):
              C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\Content
              C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\Content
              C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents\Chaos Cosmos

You can then acquire the official version of Chaos Cosmos by reinstalling V-Ray 5 for 3ds Max, update 1

Uninstall the Chaos Cosmos browser and then you can reinstall (by running the V-Ray 5, update 1 installer again) - you should get the latest Cosmos Browser version and (hopefully) it will be running smoothly from then on.

Hi jackieteh it may be that your firewall/antivirus is blocking the connection and might also be in the root of not being able to use the Cosmos Browser, could you try checking their configurations/disable them and see if the issue persists? If you're still having issues, would it be possible to contact us through our contact form so you can get further assistance?

newzboy would it be possible to drop us a line here as well so we can schedule a remote session and try to resolve this on the spot? Thanks.
