VFB suddnely going blank when any changes applied

Not sure why this has just started but with a particular file that was fine a couple of days ago, now the VFB just goes blank every time I update simple values like colours, texture etc. Is this a known bug and has it been fixed in the nightlies?

It seems a merge into a new scene resolved this. Not sure why it started though.
