  • Merge Lightcache hangs 3dsmax - possibly issue with lightmix

    I did find another thread where someone had exactly the same issue but I could not reply to it for some reason.

    Is there any update on this? It's odd because I was using lightmix previously and it seemed fine but I think it might have something to do with sending the lightmix info to the scene. Any help appreciated. Now the scene will not get past the mergling light cache passes. just sits there saying "done".

    If I delete all the lights and try again it works fine.

      So, deleting the lightmix channel sorts the issue. It seems to be a case of using lightmix, sending the lightmix setup to the scene and then keeping the channel in the render elements causing a hang after merging lightcache. I also think that any lights that were not updated by lightmix are still fine.
