Not sure what you mean be this:

start with changing your display correction layer to gamma 2.2 - I’m assuming you are saving with 2.2 through 3ds.
this is why your blacks are more milky on the saved output. you are making corrections looking through one transform and saving through another.

I'm refering to view transform in VFB. sRGB is different to 2.2. if you are saving with 2.2 (through 3ds max) you should view it as 2.2 to get the same result.

Yes, I thought that. I know, but srgb is better, I want to have this instead of gamma 2.2 version. Can I do that?

Second thing - When I try to compose lightmix layers 32bit exr in AE, one layer is the same as VFB in srgb, but when I put one on top of each other and set screen blending mode, final image is different then in VFB. Why is that?

ocio display correction has "save in image" option. just find one that will do linear to srgb transform and us that.
it should be add not screen. as in the psd I shared.

Hmm, I will try to find ocio that will do such thing, thanks.
Yeah, I tried add first, but it looks almost the same as screen in 32bit, so still it just doesnt match like the same layers in VFB. Maybe there is small mismatch on each layer and with multiple layers all those mismatches multiply. But still its pretty annoying that I cant make the same look as in VFB.
