Next 4.30.02: Reflect on back side causes weird patterns with Refl. Glossiness below 1

Basically as the title says. Activating the reflect on back side option for a glass cover produces a weird pattern on the geometry, corresponding to the tesselation. If you raise glossiness to 1 or disable reflect on back side, the artefact is gone.

Yeah there's a biggish post about it but no fix so far for when it happens, which is with microfacet. EDIT: post here https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...ext-update-3-2

It works with one brdf but would be ideal if it just worked

Cool...at least there is a workable solution, short of a total fix
