  • Distributed Rendering

I have big problems getting DR stable.

    1. Vrayspawners still need to be restarted after a rendering was canceled.
    2. Sometimes the Hosts fail on a second rendering even when the first
    wasn´t interrupted.
    3. I make a little test scene save it on a network drive, render with DR
and the "Transforming Vertex" Phase takes nearly 3 minutes.
(Just a plane and a sphere)
    4. I have one machine that doesn´t want to render DR at all.
Same installation as on the other machines (max7, no7.5, vray
1.47.03).I add it to the server list, resolve server shows me the
machine. But as soon as i hit render it doesn´t do anything.
Not even a "Render Host Failed". The vrayspawner log file entries are
the same like on the machines that render correct
    5. I had a DR in progress. All machines that should, were rendering, and
about at the middle of the rendering i got "Render Host Failed" Messages
from all machines and my local machine was the only one left rendering
    the image.

Probabely most of these problems are network related.
Any solutions/ideas what can be done about that ?

    Thank You

ps. always tested in Irradiance Bucket Mode.

ok now I´m completely confused. With another scene,
all renderslaves fail (with renderhost messages) Expect the one
that didn´t want to render before.

I don't have any specific tips for you, but we are working on a VRay version with improved DR; if you wish to try that, you can send me an email to vlado@chaosgroup.com

      Best regards,
      Vlado

same problems here since long long time and still no solutions, even without canceling any render, first render goes ok for DR , but the second one got fail messages ( not always, but without a specific reazon )... we would really appreciate an end for this nighmare. I've bought more two machines to improve my work here trusting on DR but now i am in damaged because they cant help me to speed up my prodution...
anybody has a light to this problem? the 1.5 is comming up to save us?
