Vray 5 allways freezes while Installing latest nightlies

Vray 5 installion stops when it moves on to install material library ... it loads 6MB of 72 MB and freezes ... have to kill the process

any idea ?

Hey tryharder,

Keep in mind that you should have read/write access to the directory where the library is installed - there might be something blocking that access.

Since you mentioned nightlies, does the same occur when you try to install the official build?

For the sake of testing, you can choose not to install the V-Ray Material Library (by going to the Advanced settings of the installer), and run the installation without downloading it. Once the installation is finished, you can then get the library by running the mtllib.exe file from C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\VRay3ds Max2022\bin and see if that makes any difference.

Hi,
after finally removing the complete Material Library Folder the installation went fine. The folder was way too big ... may be old installations fxxxxxed it up.
