  • Use full resolution for viewport

    Hi,

Is there a limit resolution for this. I have an 18K x 10K texture and it just displays black when I enable this option. (128MB file size)

Huh, you are right. 16x16 k images seem to work, though. I guess there is some kind of a limit, I'll ask the developers and write back.

It seems we do not have a limit on our end, so it must be a 3ds Max thing. We'll see if we can contact them about it.

Ok great, thanks. In the mean time I use a lower resolution to match some things. Might want to add this as a sidenote to the docs. Thanks!

Any progress on this? I'm also running into the same issue...

Not quite yet. We've logged the issue (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-12378 ), though. I'll ask if we can increase its priority.

Well if we need to wait for Autodesk, this might be supported in 2032.

The "hack" I'm using now is I also save a 16K versiosn of the map and use a shell material with the 16K map for the viewport and the full resolution for the render.
