  • Baking Lightmaps with Skylightportals with option "store with irradiance map" produces inhomogenous brightnesses at baked objects

    Dear all,

I have the issue that when I bake with LC and Irradiance Map, while having skylightportals in front of the windows, the baked interior objects have inhomogenous brightness. With different brightnesses I mean, that one panel has another overall brightness than the other, even if both form a continuous wall. When I switch "store with irradiance map" off, brightnesses are correct, but due to the noise, i cannot use the lightmaps, since the noise is scaled up to tiny little splotches, when having quite small lightmaps. Irradiance Map is smooth and I want to use it (at least in Vray 3.x, in Vray 5 I would like to use bruteforce and the denoiser).

    Did anybody experience the same?

    Kind regards
    Robert

Update, this happened because reflective caustics was on, and this doesn't work reliable with irradiance map during baking.
But I will switch to lightcache-bruteforce, which will work better.
