  • Vray proxy Alembic subdivision

    Hello there,
    how exactly Subdivide meshes in proxy sould work? Because its not realy smoothing the mesh and also its really unstable and max crashing all the time.

    Just tested this and it works as expected. What exactly is happening on your end? Which V-Ray version do you have installed? Could you attach the scene in question so we can take a look?

      We have 5.10.03. You can see it on the attached teapot. Handle looks ok but the body itself its not smooh. There is something wrong happening. Also as I mentioned before it's crashing a lot. And one more question because everything in vray proxy is triangulated subdivisions cant work properly anyway right? Look at the attachment.

        Thank you for the provided scene. I've managed to reproduce the crash/wrong subdivision (more like tessellation) on a fresh scene. It seems to stem from the 3ds Max exported alembic (I presume this is the case in your scene; correct me if I'm wrong). It does not occur with alembics exported from Maya. I've logged the issue (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-11460) for developer investigation.
