  • Issue loading VFB2 layer tree preset

Hey guys, looked around for a similar topic but did not find it.

I started using V-Ray 5 and the new 'save layer tree' option on the VFB2, which is a great help to set up different compositions for every image.

I have created a few, and keep using them, but suddenly i saved a new one, like before, but when i try to load it i get the error message attached here.

I did not change the presets path, and also the other ones i created earlier still work fine, as you can see on the printscreens.

Tried to save and load a new different present again, and got the same error message.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

      Hello,

Could you share some of the failing presets here or to our support ?

      Best regards,

Yes Yavor, here it is, thanks in advance for the feedback.

I also deleted all the layers i could delete, reset the lens effect / denoiser / Lighmix which we can not delete just reset, and saved the preset as "new preset" and the error continues to show up.

Also, the older presets still work, as you can see also attached.

        Cheers,

Some of the lights in your scene seem to have some non Latin symbol in them like this one:

LUZ PISO 1 ESCRITORIO CAND P?

Recently we've found an issue in our code that reads light names from Max when preparing the LightMix - those non Latin symbols were not handled properly. We have it fixed in our internal builds and the fix will soon get into the public ones.

          Thanks for the presets.

Okei i see, indeed that layer was actually named as LUZ PISO 1 ESCRITORIO CAND PÉ, and it was showing up a bit weird on the lightmix list.

Just for you to know, and for someone else having the same problem, i renamed the layers properly, deleted the lightmix from the render elements, added it once again, rendered, created new presets and they are now loading once again, the old and the new ones.

            Thanks for your help.

            Cheers
