  • Render selected objects with pixelated edge

    Hi guys,

Does anyone else have issues when rendering selected objects only? I always get a harsh, almost pixelated edge that doesn't comp smoothly. And it's usually an 'inner' edge rather than outside the selected object/s. I always have to create a feathered mask in photoshop to smooth it out.

    Hi Terri,

I had the same thing and found, that progressive render methods are not doing well here. (Production Rendering Mode)
This produces this harsh edges and also transparent alphas are getting more and more opaque during each pass as well.

So "bucketing" it - and it should be fine & perfect if you haven't used it at anyways already

    =)

Could you share some screencaps and a sample scene so we can take a look?

to me, everything in progressivemode using the "selected" or "layer" rendermask (others not tested) produces this effect. (Lightcache/Brutforce)
as soon switched to bucket render, its all fine. Just give it a simple sphere test.

          Hi guys,

Sorry I fell off the radar there. I will definitely provide a sample scene the next time I do it. I found that even with bucket sampler it still does the same thing
