V-Ray 5.2 Decal Tool freezes MAX 2022

V-Ray 5.2 Decal Tool freezes MAX 2022.
- Latest MAX update
- RTX 6000 production driver 472.39 (previous version did not work).
- 3990x

It worked great for almost one day then started freezing MAX that afternoon.
The only way to close MAX is by by performing a hard closure (in task manager, right click on max, then details/end process.)

Really liking what I see in decal.
- It could save hours of UV work on complex curve hard surfaces.

Anyone?

I just confirmed that the same file presents the same problem on my M51 Alienware laptop which is an Intel i7 machine running windows 11.
Original post was for an MSI 3990x RTX 6000 machine is running windows 10 21H1.
Both machines react the same.

A bit more information:
If I open the file, invoke the decal tool prior to IPR, and do not start IPR, the machine will not crash.
However, if I have established a decal tool, and then start IPR, the machine freezes immediately.
This is with a well-established file I have been using for many months with no prior incidents at all.
