  • Embree error with interactive CPU render

    Hi,
We're experiencing an error while using interactive rendering.
    Log message:
Error : Building Embree Voxel Tree failed: [EmbreeTree<0,1,class VUtils::StaticTreeDelegateParam,struct VUtils::SimpleStaticTriangle,struct VUtils::SDTreeBunchDelegetorFace>::build] 1: Creating new scene failed
Looks similar to the problem described in this thread:
    https://forums.chaos.com/forum/v-ray...ree-failed-bug
We've tested it with 'Conserve memory' ON and OFF, 'Dynamic memory limit' set at half the amount of RAM, quarter and at 0. The error still occurs.
The error's gone when using non-interactive rendering method.

Any ideas what may be causing that?

    Vray 5.20.01
    Windows 10

Usually means that you're running out of RAM. Could you monitor your memory usage (through the Task Manager or other monitoring software) during rendering and confirm if that is indeed the case?

      Hi Aleksandar,
      Thanks for your answer.
I was monitoring memory usage (as usual in cases like that ) and there was still around 10/64GBs free.
Also the fact that the same scene with the same setup renders fine in non-interactive mode suggests that the problem lies somewhere else.

In that case, maybe you could send us the scene so we can take a look. Mention me and include a link to this thread in the message.

Hi, it turned out to be a problem with RailClone plugin. After deleting/switching off all railclone instances, IPR starts working. I've logged this issue under VMAX-11750 in our internal bug-tracking system.
