  • Vray Mat Library Installed on Shared Network Location - Not working

    Hi,

    I have installed the VRay Material Library(With The Material Library Installer) on a server with shared access as we have multiple users using Max and VRay. However The assets have installed yet when opening the Material browser nothing appears. I have pathed the external links in 3D's Max and also in the register Editor of windows but that hasn't seem to help. Is there another step to take? Please find attached screenshots;

    This should work. Double-check the paths and make sure to restart 3ds Max.

        Hello, we have the same problem.
        We installed on a shared network path and with vray 5 everything worked fine. Now with 5.2 the path doesn't work. We also tried to edit the path with regedit, but it doesn't work.
        So we installed the material library on every machine's C, but it also seams broken.
        Does anyone have a solution?

          Try setting up this Environment Variable and restart 3ds Max:
          Code:
          VRAY_MTLIB_DOWNLOAD_DIR=C:\path\to\V-Ray Material Library

            Unfortunately the textures aren't picked up on our renderfarm. Render on the left on my local computer and render on right made on our renderfarm (yes, i changed the diffuse to pink).

            The Vray material library is on a shared folder and everything works fine with our previous setup (3dsmax 2021 vray 5.2)
            We are using 3dsmax 2022.3 vray 5.2.2

              Odd. It would be best to arrange a remote session to further investigate the cause of the issue. Write us here and include a link to this thread; post TV credentials and when the machines are going to be available.
