  • Materials and textures gone crazy when export with datasmith

    Hi, chaos team.

I don't know since what update of version 5 but I noticed it since weeks that materials and textures goin crazy, when I export files with datasmith. In Unreal glossiness and alpha maps are normal maps, mip map is set to sharpen5 (not the best) and all textures are srgb (exept normal maps, hurray). UV tile settings are sometimes there sometimes not... Tested it in Unreal 4.26 and 4.27
So my question is, is it me, the datasmith plugin or a problem in one of your latest updates.

We surely haven't changed anything that major on our side: the shaders are the exact same in regard to the parts you mention.
Regardless, it's not us doing the export and import, so we couldn't do much about it (to say: we provide the scene data inside Max, but it's DS doing the I/O.)

Datasmith has last been updated in mid October, which would match your seeing oddities for weeks, so perhaps something is afoot with it.

I'll listen in for any added feedback you may have.
