  • Cosmosbrowser -> localhost refused to connect

    Hi Guys,

I wanted to use the Cosmos Browser. But I cant establish a connection:

    This site can’t be reached

    localhost refused to connect.

    Try:
    ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Tried it already with disabled Firewall. Same thing.

"Allow Chromium to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.

If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again."

if that would lead to the problem, I don´t know what to do here. Don't see anything about Chromium

    how can I get that?

"Chromium" is a library, used to build mini browsers in various applications.
It could be inside an application's asset browser, a game launcher, and so on.

Well, that's likely down to how you set up your firewall rules.
        I don't use the windows one, i use a third-party, so i can't really help.
In my case, when Cosmos first attempts a connection, i get asked if i want to allow it, and i tell the FW to remember the rule.
To add to this: now max also connects a "qtwebengineprocess.exe" for Cosmos to function, so perhaps you can check if that is blocked.

Still not working. I normally use an external FW as well, but now it´s just the windows one. Anyway, I switched the firewall "off". Actually, I also can't remember really, that Cosmos gave me any decisions on this.
How can I "reset" like it to make Cosmos start looking refreshed for new settings? Is there any ini files about this? Haven´t tried for now a complete new installation of Vray. Mybe anyway are some settings left, wich take automatically place when installing Vray again, .. maybe...

I of course install many versions a week of V-Ray, and haven't had any issues with Cosmos at all.
Regardless, it's got its own entry in the uninstallable apps, see if that helps.
If not, maybe try via VPN, see if it's perhaps your region not liking the destination address (unlikely, but hey.).

Well, I checked the Firewall (Win´s Defender is actually only present) and all "qtwebengineprocess.exe" has been turned on by me (found in outbound only).
After installing the latest Version of Cosmos, it never the less is giving me now a different picture:

Regarding to Alexander Milanov´s conversation by a Ticket request, I felt I should give the Info to the Forum as well, because this one solved it:

                1. Uninstall Chaos Cosmos (from Control panel -> Programs and features).
                2. Open C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup and delete the ChaosCosmos folder if it is present.
                3. Open C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\ and delete the ChaosCosmos folder if it is present. (... and I only missed this one.. )
                4. Download and install Chaos Cosmos from the following link: https://download.chaos.com/downloads...208240672-free

                & ... Works!
