  • Canceling a render

Takes ages. I mean, 10-15 minutes, and it is wasting a ton of my time. I just got a MAX 2022 update, and it has started since the update. I hear my fans spinning and I know I can get back to work when the fan noise stops. CPU is 97% during the cancel.

Maybe it's unloading stuff like displacement...just a thought...hard to say, though that'd be my first guess.
I would have thought that 'cancel' should stop all processes but maybe that's a thing that needs addressing or is tricky to do
    for whatever reason.

Hard to say what goes on without a scene.
It could be us releasing RAM (highly unlikely, though, as we don't use the CPU nearly as much then.), it could be a plugin not letting go, it could be some scene part having to calculate before returning control to the user, etc.
