If i use AA1 - 4 subdiv per pixel or use AA3 +1+3 vray generate samples for empty background. And render empty background very very slow. Whay does vray use AA for background?

Because there cases where it would be good to super-sample the background too (f.e. when you have DOF, or motion blur plus camera movement, or when the background is a procedural map that has sharp edges).
If you want to speed things up, render with black background, and composite it later.

And as I posted before and other people too, vray has this hard time with antialiasing empty black or whatever other color, without use of dof and etc. I get black frames now which antialiase for 15 min per frame on dual xeons..its redicules.Dmitry Vinnik

vlado, what about including some kind of bitmap region rendering...like in maxwell or brazil? the idea is to render alpha map (sequence) then apply it to this bitmap region and then render your anim, so vray would skip areas where its black?Dmitry Vinnik
