  • Denoiser Tool removes effectsresult channel

I am using the Denoiser Standalone Tool to denoise an Animation after rendering multichannel exrs. The denoising works and I can select the effectsresult channel in the Denoiser UI to be denoised as well. But the resulting denoised exr does not have the effectresult channel any more when opened in photoshop with the exr-io plugin.
    Am I missing something?

Any help? I really would need to use the denoised effectsresult channel in compositing...

Could you share the exact steps to reproducing the issue? What kind of effects do you have in the scene? What exactly are you trying to achieve?

I rendererd an animation with the denoiser render element set to only generate render elements. Lens Effects are activated. Rendering to a multichannel exr via VFB Raw output. After Rendering there is a effectsresult channel in the image. When starting the denoiser I can select the effectsresult channel in the denoiser elements select dialog. BUT after denoising the image the resulting image does not have the effectsresult channel any more, its simply gone and not in the denoised version of the image!
I would like to have a denoised version of the effectsresult channel.

I see, I'll notify the devs about it. However, you can work around it by adding the lens effects through the vdenoise.exe, rather than in the host application.

I did not add the VFB color corrections to the render elements when saving the multichannel exr, so the color corrections are only visible in the effectsresult channel. That is why adding the lens effects through vdenoise still does not give the same result as the original effectsresult channel...

Try exporting a LUT file from the VFB (right-click on the Display Correction > Save all CCs as LUT) so you can apply the color corrections post-denoising and post-lens effects.
