  • Domelight causing artifacts (not adaptive dome)

    Hey guys,
I got a scene here where the domelight is causing block-shaped artifacts. Usually, that was caused by the adaptive domelight feature. However, this is not the case this time. Disabling it has no effect. Only solution is to disable the domelight, which alters the lighting quite heavily. Any thoughts?

Could you simplify the scene and attach it here so we can take a look? Also, post your V-Ray and 3ds Max version builds.

Thank you. The issue is scene specific. The artefacts seem to be caused by the overlapping ceiling object (Decke_P and Decke), one of which isn't visible to camera, while the other does not cast shadows. It also seems to be linked to the VRaySky texture in the dome light. I will continue debugging and see if I can isolate the issue further. Also, the artefacts are barely visible in the RGB on my end; I look at the VRayLighting to see them.

Thanks for the info! Will take a look at it. I think it can be fixed with a reorganization of the scene.
