  • DIsc light animation for motion blur

    Hello,

I'm trying to achieve motion blur with a light. The vinyle on the ceiling is projected by a vray disc light. I animated it to turn, but when I render it only render the last frame on the ceiling, but the motion is working with the geometry as you can see it on the 3d people in the scene.
Any idea on the issue here?
    Thank you in advance

I just tried a similar setup; a directional disc light projecting a texture and with an animated revolution, and it works for me, so maybe post a stripped scene with just the light and camera and it can be figured out

Works for me as well. Maybe it's not rotating fast enough? Have you tried increasing the Geometry Samples (Render Setup> V-Ray> Camera)? Otherwise, do send the scene (or attach it here) so we can take a look. Mention me and include a link to this thread.

Hello, sorry it took me a while I was traveling for work. I finally found my mistake while experimenting with the test scene.
I was thinking I needed to move the object a few frames and then "take the shot" with the camera. However, the motion blur works when the animation is after the rendered frame instead of before. Here you can see an exemple: on the left a texture projected by a moving vraylight on a static plane, on the right a moving plane with the same texture on it. The animation goes from frame 1 to 5. The motion blur appears on the render on frame 1 (before the action) and not one the frame 5 (after the action). Thank you for telling me that was possible! Have a fantastic day
