  • Crash when rendering vrayscene

    Hi,
So I have a vrayscene that contains a vrayproxy that's loading a animated alembic.
When I try to load the scene in another 3ds scene it might render while the camera/viewport is still, but as soon I navigate while IPR is running it crashes to desktop.

Attached is the alembic + vray scene (archived)
    Some asset info:
The alembic is a animated tree generated in blender then exported

It works fine when just rendering the vray proxy directly, but I wanted to save out a version with geo+material in a contained package that I can easily reference them.
Ideally I want to be able to use this with forest pack.

Works fine on my end; I am able to navigate in IPR. Which V-Ray and 3ds Max versions do you have installed?

      We tested on two computers,
      We're on 3ds max 2022.3 and V-ray 5 update 2.2
Checked on Windows 11 and windows 10

      It crashes every time here

Here is a video of it crashing in a empty scene

Ah, I managed to reproduce it as well. However, it seems to be fixed in the latest internal nightlies. The fix is probably going to be transferred to the stables soon enough. In the meantime, could you try exporting the object as a .vrmesh and use it in a VRayProxy instead?
